JPDS-NC Giving Opportunities
JPDS-NC values the contributions of parents, alumni parents,
grandparents, staff, and friends in our extended community. We rely
upon our generous supporters to strengthen our school and augment
our school initiatives. There are many ways to support JPDS-NC,
whether as a volunteer committing time or as a contributor giving
financial resources.
Annual Ru’ach Campaign
The Ru’ach Campaign is the school’s annual fundraising initiative
which enables the school to carry out its educational programs. It
is the foundation and focal point of our school’s fundraising efforts,
allowing us to build support for the mission of our school on a
consistent basis over time. Contributions to the Ru’ach Campaign help
cover current-year operating expenses and help fill the gap between
what tuition covers and the actual cost of educating each child. For the
2009-2010 school year the gap is $1,950 per student.
Salaries, professional development, tuition assistance, library and
technology resources, arts and sports programs, and other enriching
aspects of the school are funded in part through the annual Ru’ach
Campaign. Every child in our school directly benefits from every
dollar you contribute to the Ru’ach Campaign.
Building Our Future
JPDS-NC is laying the groundwork for a major fundraising campaign
which will address the needs of our growing school. Gifts supporting
this effort will provide funds allowing the school to pursue renovation
of the current building and grounds, construction of a new outdoor
play area, creation of a capital reserve fund, and expansion of our
tuition-assistance program. Extraordinary matching incentives are a
part of this campaign.
Purim Ball and Auction
The Purim Ball and Auction has been a JPDS-NC tradition for many
years. It is a time for our community to join together and celebrate
JPDS-NC and to honor individuals who have supported our school
or who serve as leaders in our community. Additional funds for the
school’s operating budget are raised through this event. This year’s
Purim Ball and Auction will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at
the National Building Museum.
Rabin Lecture
Our annual Yitzhak Rabin Memorial Lecture provides an
opportunity for JPDS-NC to highlight its connection to Israel. Past
lecturers include Elie Wiesel, Condoleezza Rice, Yuval Rabin and
other dignitaries and commentators. An outstanding curriculum
complements the lecture and provides our students with insight
into the life of Rabin, the history of Israel, and the value of conflict
resolution and peace. JPDS-NC seeks grants and gifts to underwrite
this program.
Life-Cycle Gifts
Many people choose JPDS-NC as a vehicle for recognizing special
life-cycle occasions, both joyous and sad. Donors make gifts in honor,
memory, or celebration of an individual. Parents and grandparents
also thank teachers with a gift to JPDS-NC. Whenever such a gift is
made, JPDS-NC acknowledges it with an honor or memory notice. |
