Match
-
MILTON received an extraordinary joint gift of $20 million from The Gottesman Fund and Ambassador Alfred Moses to build the middle school. In addition, MILTON parents Chani and Steven Laufer generously committed a $1 million gift to launch the middle school. As plans for the middle school unfolded, The Gottesman Fund committed an additional $2 million to the renovation of the North Campus in order to ensure the entire school building was renovated extensively and cohesively with the modern approach in the middle school designs. Although these outstanding gifts will cover the majority of the capital improvements, they will not cover all of the costs related to the expansion. To inspire communal support, Chani and Steve Laufer pledged an additional $500,000 in matching funds if the school community raises $500,000. Meeting the match challenge will bring us close to covering the capital costs of the renovation and new middle school.
The Board of Trustees and professional leadership of the school have been in the quiet stages of meeting the match challenge. Thus far, we have raised $435,000 toward the match. In the fall of 2016, we will broaden outreach to our full parent and extended community to complete the match. Dedication and recognition opportunities are available.
Endowment
-
An endowment is the most effective way to ensure the long-term sustainability and the perpetuity of MILTON. MILTON’s endowment fund will be used to guarantee access to a MILTON education for every family, regardless of financial ability, as well as to ensure the continuation and growth of excellence in our educational programs. MILTON is proud to be one of only twenty Jewish day schools across the country to be selected for the Generations National endowment initiative. This pioneering program is designed to encourage the most successful Jewish day schools of today to address the challenge of raising funds for tomorrow. MILTON’s endowment work is based on the standards and best practices of longstanding and robust independent schools (and colleges), all of which rely upon endowment income to supplement their operating needs, provide tuition assistance funds, advance new initiatives, and ensure overall financial sustainability.
MILTON has a strategic long-term goal of raising $10 million for its endowment. We will pursue endowment funding through legacy planned gifts and outright contributions. Thus far, we have raised over $200,000 in endowment commitments. Endowment support will continue alongside our annual Ru’ach Campaign and our Middle School match initiative.
